Stress Management by changing our mindset

Stress is an energy that we may use to create, alter, and progress. Stress, in its beneficial form, acts as a stimulant for development and resilience. It's known as Hormesis. Cells and organisms respond adaptively to moderate stress. On the other hand, chronic stress is the fundamental cause of many diseases, with inflammation accounting for 99% of all diseases and being influenced by hormone imbalance. Chronic stress can appear in a variety of ways, including the loss of a loved one, chronic disease, feelings of guilt, heartache, trauma, mental abuse, and many more. Managing chronic stress is critical since it can harm both physical and mental health. Prolonged stress can cause a wide range of health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, and depression. It can impair the immune system, making people more prone to sickness. Chronic stress can have an impact on sleep patterns, emotions, and general quality of life. So, we should learn to manage stress through practices such as exercise, mindfulness, and seeking social support can improve their health outcomes and lower their chance of acquiring significant health disorders.

How stress works in our body

When we are stressed, two hormones, adrenaline and norepinephrine, are released into our bodies. The hypothalamus then recognizes that we are in the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and begins to produce another chemical messenger called CRH (corticotropin-releasing hormone) into the bloodstream. Now that the pituitary gland has received the message that our body is stressed, it begins to release another messenger called ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) into the bloodstream. Following this, our adrenal gland receives the message from ACTH and begins to generate the stress hormone Cortisol. Cortisol now raises the heart rate, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and many other factors, diverting all muscles to a fight or flight response. When cortisol levels remain high, hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and prolactin become imbalanced, leading to several diseases in our body.
